Date: 9/1/08 [RABU]
A total of 16—thousand participants of the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority Land SALCRA are expected to have a windfall dividen totaling 40.3 million ringgit. Chairman of SALCRA, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu says the amount is the biggest ever being given since SALCRA gave out dividend to its participants ten years ago. This follows good world market prices of three-thousand ringgit for crude palm oil and last year SALCRA produced 511-thouand and eight metric tones of fresh fruit bunches, FFB. This year the target production is 600—thousand metric tones.

Datuk Patinggi Alfred Jabu who is also the Deputy Chief Minister told reporters this in Miri today that for last year, the total dividend issued out was 25-million ringgit. Thus making of dividend issued since 30 years of SALCRA’s existing amouting to 242.3 million ringgit. SALCRA now has a total of 49-thousand hectares of oil palm estates mostly Nature Customary Rights Land, (NCR). Thus Datuk Patinggi Alfred Jabu urged owners of NCR land to allow SALCRA to jointly develop their idle lands for oil palm estates.
