Thirteen tourism operators in Sarawak will participate in the Sarawak Travel Fair.
The event will be held at The Mall, Gadong in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from the 27th to 29th of this month.
According to the Acting Manager [Corporate Affairs] Sarawak Tourism Board, STB, Benedict Jimbau when contacted by RTM today said the participants are from tour agents and hotelier.
They are Sarawak Tourism Board, Borneo Jungle Safari, Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort, Seridan Mulu Tour & Travel Services, Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club, Wesberley Apartment, Mega Hotel, Journey Travel, Borneo Adventure, Imperial Hotel, Damai Rainforest Resort, Damai Golf and Country Club, Grand Margherita Hotel and Riverside Majestic Hotel.
Benedict said the purpose of such fair is to promote Sarawak as a tourism destination to the people of Brunei Darussalam.
His Excellency Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, High Commissioner of Malaysia in Brunei Darussalam together with the Minister of Tourism and Urbanization Development, Datuk Michael Manyin anak Jawong will officiate the opening ceremony on friday afternoon [27-3-2009].
The event was jointly organized by STB and Tourism Malaysia Brunei. Last year, Sarawak receives about 1.4 million tourist arrivals from Brunei.
