Mapping of federal roads on hillslope and housing projects along hillsides in Sabah and Sarawak will be carried out next year.
The Director of Slope Engineering Division of the Public Works Department, Dato Dr. Ashaari Mohamad says priority will be given to high risk areas before extending to other areas.
He was speaking to RTM after attending a Seminar on National Slope Master Plan and Public Awareness in Miri today.
He said mapping works on federal roads and housing projects along hillslopes in Semenanjung Malaysia started last year as expected to be completed in two years time.
The mapping works was neccessary for the implementation of the National Slope Master Plan which among others emphasised on safety measures for development projects in hillslope areas.
